Now I am going to introduce amazing search engine which will save the energy.
Blackle search engine is the Black Google search engine or we can say Black version of the Google search engine. Its amazing how search engine will save the energy...!!!!
Blackle saves energy because the screen is predominantly black. Our display requires more power to display different colors, where the block color will take less energy nothing but black screen. So if we set a black background on desktop as well as your home page they will take less energy.
According to calculations a white web page uses about 74 watts to display while an all black page uses only 59 watt. Lets have a small calculation
Google, who gets about 200 million queries a day and asume each query is displayed for about 10 seconds; means Google is running for about 5,50,000 hours every day.
A black back ground ( On a CRT monitor ) will save a total of 74-59 watts.
So imagine at the end of the day to the end of the year how much power is going to save....!!!!
Till 10th August approximately 3,253,076.876 Watt hours saved by Blackle .
