SImple Multiplication Trick (for Multiplication beginners)

Hi Friends,

        We have so many tricks for calculation of big numbers in simple way. Here am going to explain how to multiply 2 numbers simply with out any calculator. Hope it will be helpful for you to understand the Maths multiplication. But you should know multiplication basics before you try. I am going to explain 3 Math Multiplication Tricks.

1) 2 digit multiplication.
2) Square root of no which ends with 5 and
3) Square root of a Number after 85.

2 Digit Multiplication

    Let us start taking 2 numbers for multiplication. I took 12 and 13 basic numbers for multiplication. Now let see how does it works. The expression is like below

13x12 = 1 5 6

I made some coloring to number so that you can easily understand this trick. 13 is at your left hand and 12 is at your right hand. So below figure shows how I calculated the product of these 2 numbers to get 156 as result.

 

I made 4 lines horizontal and  3 vertical lines which have some coloring similar to our numbers. So. I took 13 as 1+3=4 horizontal lines out of then 1 is colored red. Same way for 12 also 1+2=3 vertical and among them 1 is in Green color.

Now just calculate the joining points individually like the joining point of red and green is 1 so our result starts with 1, then the joining points of red, black and green, black together are 5 so now our result becomes 15 and at last joining points of black and black i.e 6. Hence our final result will be 156.

Observe the below example for more understanding. 

 

Square root of no which ends with 5

It is very simple trick. For example take 25^2 = 625. To find square root of this number write the total expression like 

25 x 25 = 6 25.

Here again observe the coloring. The last digit 5x5 = 25 is written and the the common number is 2 so take 2+1 = 3 and multiply 2 with 3 i.e 6. This digit will be at left most side. So finally our result becomes 625. You can observe more from below.

Square root of a Number after 85

This is little bit tricky but interesting. First we will start from 99 and will move on up to 85. Lets start with 99x99 the result is 9801. Here we should follow two steps. Our result contains 4 digit number. So we will get left half and right half individually. To get the number we must follow the below 3 steps.

99x99 = 98 01

Step 1 : Subtract the multiplication number from 100.

100-99 = 01

Step 2 : Find square root of number which we got at Step 1

01x01 = 01 

Step 3 : Subtract the number which we got from Step 1 from the multiplication number. 

99-01 = 98

Lets try for 96

96x96 = 92 16

Step 1 : 100-96 = 04

Step 2 : 04x04 = 16

Step 3 : 96-04 = 92

For 92

92x92 = 86 64

Step 1 : 100-92 = 08

Step 2 : 08x08 = 64

Step 3 : 92-08 = 86
